Over the past financial year, in2Dredging (i2D) has continued to contribute to major marine infrastructure projects across Australia and internationally. From dredging engineering and dredging feasibility studies to dredging expert witness services, construction support and technical advisory, our team has delivered practical, technically robust and cost-effective solutions throughout the project lifecycle.


Major Projects for FY2025/2026

The following projects showcase i2D's expertise in dredging engineering, dredging and reclamation, and independent technical advisory services. Together, they demonstrate i2D’s capability to deliver successful outcomes for complex marine infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.

Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link – Dredging Expert Witness Services

i2D is proud to have been recognised as an independent dredging expert witness on the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link project. This landmark development is one of Western Europe’s largest marine infrastructure projects. It will connect Denmark and Germany with an immersed road and rail tunnel beneath the Fehmarn Belt.

During the year, Norwegian energy technology company TechnipFMC also engaged i2D to provide independent dredging expert witness services. This further reinforced our reputation for delivering technically rigorous, objective and impartial advice in complex engineering matters and commercial disputes.

Our role included providing independent dredging expert witness services, technical advice, dredging and reclamation expertise, and arbitration and dispute support.

Port of Karumba – Dredging Feasibility Study

i2D completed a comprehensive dredging feasibility study for the Port of Karumba, Queensland. The study supported the project's business case and funding application.

Alternative dredging methodologies and compared them with conventional dredging solutions. The assessment demonstrated the potential to reduce project costs while improving economic viability and providing greater confidence for future project development.

Our services included the dredging feasibility study, evaluation of alternative dredging solutions, cost optimisation and business case support.

BUSS Offshore Wind Terminal – Dredging Engineering from Feasibility to Commissioning

The BUSS Offshore Wind Terminal in Eemshaven, the Netherlands, has now been successfully completed and commissioned. i2D provided dredging engineering and marine engineering support throughout the project, from the initial feasibility stage through to detailed planning and construction.

This marks the successful delivery of the second BUSS offshore wind terminal quay improvement project supported by i2D. It follows our involvement in the first terminal completed in 2020, demonstrating our ongoing contribution to large-scale offshore wind projects.

i2D’s involvement included feasibility studies, dredging design, construction support and technical advisory services.
