Drilling & Blasting Masterclass

Australia/Perth
Add to calendar:

Join us for a training course on the fundamentals of marine Drilling & Blasting

This masterclass is a must for anyone who is likely to be technically or commercially involved in marine D&B activities.  You will gain understanding of the core principles that drive successful marine D&B operations.

Topics covered include:

  • Introduction to marine D&B
Includes information on blast design, risks and challenges associated with marine D&B, as well as equipment used for D&B and for dredging the blasted rock.

  • Estimating for D&B
Covers geotechnical rock parameters, drill patterns and key performance indicators, as well as the importance of bench height, area and volume estimates.

  • D&B activity cycles
Involves a walk-through of D&B activities such as drilling, charging, blasting, etc.

  • E4D&B tool overview
Provides a quick overview of i2D’s E4D&B tool.  This tool helps to accurately estimate drilling, blasting and operational production in rock.  It also facilitates sensitivity analyses as its results can be used to quantify risk.

  • Environmental impact
The impact of D&B projects will be discussed, such as ground vibrations, underwater noise and underwater shock waves as well as their effects on marine fauna.  Also covered is how such environmental impacts can be minimised by planning and managing the associated works with the environment in mind.

Download the training brochure for more information on this short intensive D&B masterclass.
